Positive Attitude

A positive attitude helps you to deal more easily with the daily challenges in your life. It brings optimism and happiness into your life, and makes it easier to avoid sadness, depression and negative thinking. If you take it as a way of lifestyle it will bring lots of good changes to your life, and makes you happier, brighter and more successful.
With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, you become optimistic, and expect the best to happen.

But, what happens when I have a positive attitude?
How do I know if I´m acting positively?
Well, positive attitude can be found in many different ways, for example: positive thinking, constructive thinking, optimism, being happier, smiling, etc.

And, what do I win for behaving positively?
You expect success and nothing less- hungry for success- it makes you feel inspired, it gives you the courage to keep going on and not giving up, it helps you in believing I yourself and be more confident, you take chances and take the best out of them, etc.

A positive attitude leads to happiness and success and can change your whole life. If you look at the bright side of life, your whole life becomes filled with “light”. This “light” affects not only you and the way you look at the world, but it also affects people around you.
If this attitude is strong enough, it becomes contagious. It’s as if you radiate light around you.

If you have been experiencing a negative attitude and expecting failure and difficulties, it´s now the time to change the way you think. It´s the time to get rid of negative thoughts and behavior, and start focusing on a happier and more successful life. If you tried to do so in the past and failed, it only means that you have not tried enough.

What tips can I apply to get a positive attitude and get rid of the negative one?
Find a motivation- literally anything- that you think it could motivate you, for example your parents, your girlfriend, your friends, your family, your kids, and the most important one: yourself.
Choose to be happy, to be optimistic, it´s very easy.
Find something, anything, worth being proud or happy for.
Find reasons to smile.
Have faith in yourself and believe that you can achieve what you want.
Read inspiring quotes and stories or investigate about them.
And finally… Never, ever, give up on you.

Positive Attitude from a Buddhist Perspective

The main goal of Buddhism as a lifestyle is to help you find true happiness in yourself, and for that you have to learn how to deal with “dukkha”.
The word dukkha in Pali, means “pain” or “feeling of shame” and it refers to it as mentally, physically or spiritually. It also translates as “suffering”, always referring to being unsatisfied with things, that at the end produce suffering.

No matter what religion you practice or what your beliefs are, at some point in your life you are going to face complicated situations that are inevitable and that you find it really hard to keep a good attitude. These can vary, from loosing someone close to you or simply getting into a fight with a friend.

For moments like these there is a concept in Buddhist philosophy called “turning poison into medicine” that basically teaches us to transform negative into positive, and being able to do this helps us develop ourselves as human beings. The most important thing is how we react in the face of unfortunate moments.

How? There´s many techniques that can help us suffer less and keep a good attitude, and all of these have to do with you and your mind, how you see things, the key is to truly believe in these principles.

Here are some suggestions based on basic mantras that you can repeat on a daily basis to help you be aware of what really matters: YOU

1- Confront difficulties as an opportunity to change and be better with you and with others.

2- You have control over your mind, you decide what you keep from those negative experiences.

3- Believe that for every downside there is always a reward, maybe not immediately but it´ll happen when it has to happen.

4- Always detach yourself from material possessions and people that only damage you and stop you from growing.
And lastly if you are in control of yourself nothing can bring you down, this does not mean you can´t feel sad or cry once in a while, but it means you can suddenly get over it and most importantly learn from it to become a better person.

Some quotes that may help you feel positive at all times.

Note that great love and great achievements involve great risk .
-Dalai Lama

If our mind is dominated by anger, we would squander the best part of the human brain : wisdom, the ability to discern and decide what is right or wrong —Dalai Lama

Positive Attitude From a Perspective.

img_0063342077I´m Jimena Valdez, and I´m 15. And i´m actually at UdeM. (the one with the black shirt)

What can I say of positive attitude?

I am a person who is not the one that is always happy, and i´m almost sure that not everyone is always happy, but there are exceptions, also positive attitude may be needed everywhere, but maybe there are situations where people prefer to be more serious about something.

Growing up i think that we lower our positiveness because we start to see new things, and we think more maturely, and in some occasions things happen that make us sadder. Also we apply our positive attitude to “useful” situations.

I think of myself as a positive person, and as far as I know some people that know me describe me as one, but not everyone, just as every human being I have my “breakdowns”, but I try my best to spread the positiveness even if I don´t feel it entirely. And instead of taking down people with me I try to seem at least serious.

What gives me a positive attitude?

I don´t think there´s an specific thing that makes me have a positive attitude, but one thing is to make others happy, not making them sad, as I said because how could someone feel if another person says “you can´t do it” or “its impossible” sooner or later you´ll get sick of that person, and which person likes to be alone? I think that when I say “I need a positive attitude” it gives me an impulse to develop it, is like when people say that you need to believe what you say either for good or bad.

Also another thing is music, different types of it, i´m not saying that all of music because for example sad music does not make me a positive person, but for example when I´m at the gym and I feel really lazy, music has something that feels like you turn a switch on and all of sudden my thoughts change and my body feels different. And I think that´s what positive attitude in general makes you feel. You see things differently, your thoughts change and you feel different in a good way and maybe that´s the purpose of positive attitude, and who doesn´t like that, to feel different and also to make the others feel the same, positive attitude can change your life radically, and it can be simple things that help you change.

Anabella Sahagun Interview

lalaretrieved on August 29, 2016 from:

We made the decision to interview Anabella because the positiveness she transmited, she was Maria Luiza´s and Jimena´s teacher at Instituto Nezaldi

1.Do you think of yourself as a positive person?

Not at first.  I had always thought of myself as stupidly realistic. However the turns in life have shown me differently.

So the answer is yes.

2.What moment made you change?

When I was diagnosed with cancer. That moment was a fast course to a survival mode. I had to stay around for my kids. And I needed to stress the part of continuing ALIVE.

3.What makes you keep your positive attitude on a daily basis?

Just being grateful for the chance of staying around. The acknowledgement of the frailty and briefness of life.

4.Have you been inspired by someone?

By my dad. He must be like the most positive person in the world.  He has always told me that worrying wont take you anywhere. Just working will solve whichever issue you might find in your way.

5.What is YOUR definition of positive attitude?

Mmm I guess being able to look for light in the darkness seems the most easy answer.

6.Does positive thinking affect your daily life?

Yes. It gives me the strength to finish my work, solve problems of daily life, but above all enjoy the paths that I must walk.

7.What’s the first step to start having a positive attitude?

Maybe to understand that we are lucky no matter what. That life allows us many chances so we have got to be grateful for them.

8.What would you say to someone that is going through a hard time in their life?

Find a meaning of whatever is going wrong. Use this strength to continue. Allow yourself to cry every once in a while. Eat chocolate.

9.Do you think it’s important to surround yourself with positive people?

Important yet not essential.  You should be able to fight negativity.  Others’ situation must not be an excuse to you.

10.Do you have any tips you can give us to stay positive?

Believe that everything has a solution. Except for death.. in that case you should not worry then because death for all is a sure thing.

Always try your best.

Make choices thinking about the consequences and have good judgment.

11.What is your opinion on people who aren’t positive?

They have not had a chance to be grateful.

12.Do you try to transmit your positivism?

Well yeah! Of course. Sometimes people are recipient of it but others do not understand.

13.Do you think positive attitude can be transmitted through your body?

I do not act for people though and do not waste my time trying to convince those who rather have it the other way. I have not walked in their shoes.

14.In your opinion being positive is a matter of attitude or personality?

Definitely 50%and 50% .personality is the motor an what makes you be you and attitude is like the gasoline in the motor.

15.Why is it important to stay positive?

For your own good and health. Also your family needs that certainty.

Gaining and maintaining a positive attitude

Positive Attitude

We all want to reach that point in our lives were we fulfill our souls with happy thoughts, maybe in the movies it seems easy but in reality we have to go through steps.

“The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.” ~ Unknown

First you have to focus on what you want, find your goals in life, set your achievements, don’t get lost on past events, let those go; focus on today, fight for what you really want.

Believe happiness is a choice, we can all be happy we just have to find the way, there is a very big difference between being happy and feeling happy, feeling happy is a temporary phase we all pass through, but being happy is a life style we achieve.

Rid your life of negativity, this step may seem difficult but its really not that hard, getting rid of negativity doesn’t mean never having a down day, it means seeing that as an opportunity to get stronger, events happen but it depends on us how we choose the perceive it.

Now that you got rid of the negativity in your life it will become simpler to focus on the positive things in life, the next step is look for the positivity in your life.

Not only do you have to be positive with yourself you also need to be positive with others and this will create a great impact on you, helping others makes you focus on the important things in life and focus on achieving your goals and keep a positive attitude towards obstacles life throws at you.

People may think obtaining and primarily maintaining a positive attitude can be difficult maybe even impossible, but its not.

Gaining a positive attitude can be hard at first, but that’s what the steps are for, if you set your mind to it and follow the steps you can achieve anything you set your mind too, keeping a positive attitude isn’t just a way of thinking, it’s a way of moving, creating, designing, discovering and ways to keep moving forward.

Once you’ve gained the ability of positive thinking, keeping it isn’t going to be hard. There are also some steps in maintaining a positive attitude:

Do the things you love, don’t try and do what makes other people happy, do your own thing; listen to music, read a book, play with your pets anything that inspires you, relaxes you and helps you stay positive.

And most importantly use Gratitude to Improve Your Attitude, focus on the things you have, not on the ones you’re missing.

“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you`ll look back and realize they were the big things.”― Kurt Vonnegut

What is positive attitude?

What is positive attitude?

According to various resources “positive attitude helps you cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worries and negative thinking.” based on this we can tell that having a positive attitude is essential in life and helps you achieve everything you set your mind to.

unfortunately not everyone in this world has a positive attitude, and also not everyone thinks they need it.

a lot of people already stated that having a positive attitude can change someone life, and since positive attitude is seen on the outside it helps the other people start looking forward to positiveness.

Positive attitude reaches the same purpose but has a different meaning for each person, and to reach positive attitude everyone has its own way. For example maybe a person who loves meat, meat is everything that makes him/her happy, and a vegetarian obviously does not think the same, but they both search for positivism in their lives, and that means that there is not only one way to get to the “trophy”.

When I asked my mom what does positive attitude means to her she said “seeing everything black in color” life will not give you the color instantly, and of course there will be scenarios where it will be very hard to find the color. And maybe people will stay in that black scenario for long time but they will find a way to get through it.

“your attitude is contagious” so think about how to act before you go with your friends, because maybe sometimes they are seeing colors but like chains you go down with them and either you see color with them or you see black with them.

Positive attitude can be transmitted in the simplest ways, paying attention to someone, giving a compliment, giving a smile can change a person life, it may sound unbelievable but a lot of people need someones attention in order to have a positive attitude, people is a very important factor in positive attitude, in occasions is how you realize that you are positive.

Positive attitude is getting back up when you fall down, no matter how many times you fall positive attitude is your motor, what keeps you going, is being a good person with everyone, making people happy with everything you can reach, making yourself happy.
